| SECTION GUIDELINES - An Admiral must be a Team Leader for at least six months before taking on a Section Leader. Only Captains or Vice Admirals are eligible to be Section Leaders and must be GAB members in good standing for at least 6 months prior to becoming a Section Leader. Sections are for the purpose of training new Team Leaders and should not be assigned as a favor or reward.
- A Team Leader may create a leaderless section for inactive members, but excessive division of the team into sections without leaders is discouraged.
- A team should have no more than one active section for every 40 members on the entire team. For example, a team with 90 total members can have up to 2 sections with leaders in addition to an inactive section.
- Regardless of section size, the team's main body should always have at least 25 members. This way in the event a Section Leader takes his section members and forms his own team, the original team is still left with enough members to satisfy the 25 member minimum.
- The minimum size of a Section is 5 members and the maximum is 25. There is no size limit on inactive sections.
- Before requesting new members for the section, the Section Leader should have the approval of the Team Leader. Either the Team or Section Leader can make the request to the Applications Team. Up to 10 members may be requested at a time. A copy of the new member assignment will be sent to the Section Leader and cc'ed to the Team Leader. The Team Leader is expected to teach the Section Leader how to add the new members to the database as well as make sure a welcome letter is sent out and references checked.
- It is the responsibility of both the Section and Team Leaders to keep in regular contact with each other. The Team Leader is expected to both train the Section Leader in his new duties and follow up with him to make sure the duties are performed to GAB standards. If a Team Leader is not able to do so, he should not take on a Section Leader. If a Team Leader decides he no longer wants to have a Section Leader in his team, but the Section Leader wants to continue with his duties, the section can be moved to another team.
- If a Section Leader does not contact their Team Leader within 30 days or does not keep in regular contact, they can be removed and the Team Leader can put the section members into his own team or appoint another Section Leader.
- Any questions relating to the duties of either the Team or Section Leader not addressed by these guidelines can be directed to Grand Admiral
